This is a lidded rectangular urn with a perforated lid, further embellished with gold gilt accents, two gilt handles with elephant head shape heads and a foo dog dragon figural finial on the lid. With calligraphy signature on the bottom.

TWO CHINESE LACQUERED LANTERNS, QING DYNASTY A pair of Chinese lacquered lanterns, Qing Dynasty. Square in shape, each side has a panel of glass with calligraphy and a small landscape behind. Top and bottom panels have open carved scrollwork with designs. Remnants of red paint. Hole in top for light and wired will pull chain. Each of 4 corner posts extend past top with carved bats on lotus bases. Larger lantern also has calligraphy panels behind glass, but no landscapes. Both lanterns work when plugged in.

Note: According to William Cowper Prime in Pottery and Porcelain of All Times and Nations (1878) p. 254 the Buddhist imagery or mark on the base of the porcelain represented by the swastika enclosed in a lozenge with loops at the corners is a symbolic one called the "Tablet of Honor". Prime writes that "the tablet of honor is an imperial gift to an officer".
